Our bestseller: the 100% waterproof neoprene Dachshund winter coat!
This lovely Dachshund winter coat is made of pure wool. The inside is fleece lined so that no hair gets stuck in it. This combination of fabrics makes it a Dachshund winter coat that counteracts all cold. The collar also provides extra warmth that you can use upright or turn over. In addition, wool is water-repellent, so this Dachshund winter coat can withstand a shower. Besides the fact that this coat is very warm, it is also a true eye-catcher! Are you really looking for a waterproof (winter) coat? Then take a look at our neoprene winter- and rain coats.
As the name suggests, this coat is ideal for winter wear. It’s suitable for wire-haired, long-haired, and short-haired dachshunds, making it a versatile winter coat. While we primarily recommend it for short-haired and long-haired dachshunds in colder months, it’s also a great option for wire-haired dachshunds with little or fluffy undercoats. If your wire-haired dachshund has a thick undercoat and isn’t sensitive to the cold, consider the single fleece coat as a lighter layer. This double lined winter coat might be too warm in such cases.
All our Dachshund coats are handmade by Eleonora in Italy. This means the coats are not mass-produced. After years of testing, we’ve finally perfected the “Dachshund fit.” The coat is extra long to cover your dachshund’s back, protecting the lungs and belly with a wide flap. It features Velcro closures on the chest and belly, making it easy to put on and adjust to fit your dog perfectly once you’ve chosen the right size using the measuring guide below.
This Dachshund winter coat made of wool has no eye in the coat for a harness. This means that a harness can be worn over this coat, provided it is a harness that falls further on the back. Harness models other than Y or H harnesses do not fit over the coat and end up in the armpits. Looking for a harness that always fits over this? Take a look here.
Add extra warmth and complete the look with one of our matching snoods!

Measuring advice
The image below shows you how to measure your Dachshund to get the right size. Take a look at the blog How do I know what size my Dachshund is? for detailed explanation. In the size chart below you can see what size your Dachshund should be.
Neck: measure around the neck and shoulders, where a collar would be
Chest: measure around the chest, about two fingers behind the front legs
Back: measure the back length from shoulder blade to base of the tail
Sizes
In this size chart you can see what size your Dachshund should be.
NB! The advice based on Dachshund size and weight is a guideline. The advice remains: measure your Dachshund based on the measuring advice and compare the measured centimeters with those in the size chart. Do not rely on our advice about which size suits which Dachshund, every Dachshund is different.

Maintenance instructions
To ensure a long lifespan, wash the coat as little as possible. If it gets dirty, let the dirt dry and brush it off. The coat can be washed at a maximum of 30°C, preferably without other items of clothing. Allow the coat to air dry and avoid using a drying machine.
