As you already expect from us, this Dachshund raincoat is specially made for the long body of the Dachshund. The extra length ensures that your Dachshund does not get a cold bottom, and the belly has also been taken into account. The coat has a wide band that protects the lungs against water and cold. Wax is known for its water-repellent qualities, making this Dachshund coat ideal for outdoor activities, such as hunting, outdoor training or forest walks.
This is a complete water-repellent raincoat for all Dachshund coat types. It is the ideal spring and autumn Dachshund coat for wire-haired, long-haired and short-haired dogs. For the rough-haired with thick undercoat, it is sometimes even sufficient as a winter coat. Do you have a Dachshund that is cold? Then choose a Dachshund coat that is thicker (
fleece or
wool lined). This wax coat only has a cotton inner layer and does not provide much warmth. Due to its water-repellent effect, it does naturally retain water, which provides warmth.
This Dachshund raincoat does not have a hole for a harness. This means that a harness is worn over this coat. This is only possible with harnesses that fall further on the back. Neck area: measure the neck all around, where a collar would also be
Chest area: measure the chest all around, two fingers behind the front legs
Back length: measure the back length from shoulder blade to the base of tail
Washing/care instructions
For a long lifespan, wash the coat as little as possible. If the coat gets dirty, let the air-dry and brush it off. If you wash this Dachshund raincoat, you need to wax it again. By washing, the beeswax disappears and it no longer has a water-repellent function. If washing is necessary, do this by hand (hand wash) and let it air dry (not in the tumble dryer).
